Destiny 2 Season Finale

Today Bungie released a new trailer of its popular action-shooter-MMO Destiny 2, and it's a rather special one.

The trailer showcases the finale of Season 19 for The Witch Queen, marking the end of the whole expansion ahead of the new one, Lightfall, which will be released on February 28.

While I won't spoil it, it's certainly quite emotional and will likely have Guardians shed a tear or two. You can see what I mean by watching the video below.

It's worth mentioning that the message at the end doesn't really mean that Lightfall will be the last expansion for Destiny 2. Yet, it'll likely be the conclusion of the current story arc.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

The game has been active for quite a while, having released in 2017 when it was still under Activision's Umbrella. Bungie has since reacquired the publishing rights of the franchise in 2019, turning Destiny 2 into a fully self-published endeavor.

Since its release, Destiny 2 has been expanded with four major expansions, Forsaken in September 2018, Shadowkeep in October 2019, Beyond Light in November 2020, and The Witch Queen in February 2022. Lightfall will be the fifth, coming on February 28, 2023. If today's cutscene is any indication, its story has the potential to be rather climactic.
