Some details regarding upcoming Destiny 2 content have leaked ahead of today's official Bungie reveal. The name of the game's upcoming content season has leaked, as has a release date for a major upcoming expansion. If you don't want to know anything ahead of the official reveal, don't read on, for there be spoilers.

News of the upcoming content season comes via prominent Destiny 2 source TheDestinyBlog on Twitter. A tweet from the account revealed a US PlayStation Store listing for $21.95, allowing players to purchase in-game Silver currency for something called "Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals". This appears to be the name for the upcoming content season. The logo for the season reveals Hive runes in the image behind the Warlock, which indicates that the major enemy for the new content season will be the Hive. According to the listing, purchasing the Silvers bundle will also get you a "Strange Visitors" legendary emote.

So when is the new Destiny 2 expansion coming?

According to Eurogamer, the Destiny 2 product page on the PlayStation Store recently warned that "105GB is required as of 22nd September 2020". Visiting the store page now shows only a date of October 2019, which indicates that the September 2020 date may have been listed in error. Still, this is a pretty solid guess as to when we could be getting the next major Destiny 2 expansion. We don't know too much about the expansion yet, so we'll have to wait for Bungie's official reveal later today in order to find out more. Of course, there's a chance they won't mention it at all, but it's unlikely.

If you want to tune into Bungie's official Destiny 2 reveal, you can do so today on Twitch. The presentation starts at 12 pm. In the meantime, you can grab Destiny 2 for free on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
