Even with a delay, the Berserk news keeps on coming. As revealed in Famitsu, the latest warrior to join Koei Tecmo and Omega Force's upcoming Berserk Musou is recurring antagonist and apostle (a man who sacrificed something dear to him to become a demon) Nosferatu Zodd the Immortal. Not only will Zodd be playable in his human form, it also appears that his horned apostle transformation will also be available.
According to Hachima Kikou, voice actor Kenta Miyake (Boku no Hero Academia's All Might, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure's Mohammed Avdol) will be reprising his role as Zodd from the Berserk CG movie trilogy. He's not the first actor to return, and the entirety of the revealed cast are all voiced by their CG anime voice actors.
Along with Nosferatu Zodd's transformation, it also appears that Guts will be able to access his Berserker Armor, a cursed suit of pitch-black armor that renders the user incapable of feeling pain, all while snapping bones back in place and relocating joints. It is currently unknown just how the armor will function in the game, but it is safe to assume it will be some sort of super mode.
As mentioned earlier, Berserk has been delayed in Japan from September 21st to October 27th. At the time of writing, the English release date is still slated for sometime this Fall. Berserk will be releasing on PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC via Steam.
While it was safe to assume Zodd would be playable from the start, it's still great to see an official confirmation. Transformation-wise, I'm more excited for the Berserker Armor over Apostle Form, as I always found its design to be extremely appealing. And of course, now that apostle transformations are officially confirmed, we are another step closer to getting that playable Wylad.
