Just three days after releasing a trailer showcasing the immortal Nosferatu Zodd, Koei Tecmo has released another trailer for Omega Force's upcoming Berserk Musou centered around the series protagonist Guts. Or, to be more precise, his dangerous and intimidating super form - the series' iconic Berserker Armor.

In the Berserk manga, this cursed suit of armor was originally worn by the enigmatic (and potentially immortal) Skull Knight, an important character who has yet to be confirmed as playable in the title. But many years after Skull Knight stowed the armor away for good at a witch's hut, Guts was forced to don it, granting him fantastic strength and the inability to feel any type of pain at the cost of his own sanity.
The trailer (which is presumably set around chapter 240 of the manga, judging by the sandy setting and presence of the reptilian Pishaca as enemies) shows just how dangerous the armor can make a man, with Guts practically flying from enemy to enemy as a black blur of steel and leaving buckets of blood in his wake. While this clearly displays the armor's physicality-enhancing prowess, it doesn't seem to show if the Berserker Armor's spine-chilling ability to snap broken bones back together or sew wounds shut as 'regeneration' will factor into gameplay.
Berserk is scheduled to released on October 27th in Japan, with a western release for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and the PC via Steam later this fall.
Quick Take
It's nice to see the Berserker Armor be a powerup instead of an entirely different character, and Guts' moveset while under its influence sure looks like a treat to play. I admittedly very curious to see how the armor's psedo-healing factors into the game, but until then it looks like we're just going to have to wait.
And still waiting on that playable Mozgus.
