Battleborn

Battleborn has been on a rocky road since its start, releasing in at a similar time to Blizzard's Overwatch, with many claiming the two games share a lot of similarities. Some may say Overwatch is the better game so players went there instead, but Battleborn's reviews weren't terrible (including our own) either. Whatever the case, Battleborn didn't grab enough people's attention and now it seems the game will receive no more updates after the Fall Update announced at PAX West. Creative Director Randy Varnell has also announced he will be moving on to another project at Gearbox.

The Fall Update will include new skins for the game that come from Gearbox's Borderlands series, map, and balance tweaks, updated art, and some Finisher Boosts and Taunts. As said in the post, this is the final update Battleborn will receive

However, that does not mean that the servers will be going offline and the post from Varnell says that they will be up for the foreseeable future. So, if you're still interested in playing Battleborn, you will be able to in the future, just don't expect more updates with new content going forward.

The reason for this seems to be related to the unannounced, yet might as well be announced, Borderlands 3. In the post, that is the project Varnell alludes to moving on to, with Pitchford in that previously linked article stating about 90% of Gearbox is working on the title.

Additionally, anyone can redeem a SHiFT code for Deande's Intelligence skin, posted in the blog post and also here: "ZKK33-FT59R-KCK3S-XCR33-B56HB." The blog post goes into how you can go about redeeming the code.

Are you a Battleborn player? What do you think of the game receiving no more updates? What sort of updates were you hoping to see in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
