Today Bandai Namco shared an interesting tease that has fans of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse franchise and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 wondering about what may be coming.
The tease, shared on X (formerly Twitter) simply includes the "#DBXV2" hashtag and the encouragement to "Stay Tuned..." alongside beautiful artwork featuring Goku and the player executing a joint Kamehameha.
The illustration also features Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time in the background. You can see it below.
At the moment, the meaning of the tease remains mysterious, but it's worth mentioning that the 7th anniversary of the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is coming on October 25, 2023, just two weeks from now.
The tease was also shared in Japanese with similar text and art. so whatever it is, it's not related only to the western market.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and recently we learned that it has shipped over 10 million copies.
It's also an example of stubborn vitality, as Bandai Namco continues to release DLCs (albeit I don't remember them being teased this way) after so long since the game's release, which isn't something you see often in this industry.
Funnily, Bandai Namco removed a mention that the game would get one year of post-launch support from the Steam page just a few months ago, replacing it with the mention that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 comes with "7 years of expansions."
In the meanwhile, Bandai Namco has recently teased a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi (Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! in Japan) but has not provided any further information about it beyond the initial announcement.
