Larian has released the fourth major Baldur's Gate 3 update since the celebrated RPG's release back in August this year.

Just like a previous update, this new patch clocks in at over a thousand changes, tweaks, and fixes, and some of them are pretty major. There may be spoilers ahead, so proceed at your own risk!

First up, it's now possible to customize the appearance of hirelings when you recruit them. Larian says this should put a stop to what it amusingly calls "Extreme Makeover: Faerûn Edition".

Your adventure throughout the Forgotten Realms should be a little smoother after this latest Baldur's Gate 3 update.

Dead avatars can now be sent to Withers' Wardrobe, and Withers will also explain how that same wardrobe works, so you shouldn't feel quite as baffled by it.

Several color-blindness options have also been added: you can now choose from protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia, which will change certain UI elements to reflect your choice.

As well as these bigger changes, a whole host of smaller bug fixes, improvements, and tweaks have also been made.

After Patch #2 gave Karlach a proper ending, this new update fixes a hilarious glitch that left her headless if you resurrected her after decapitating her.

Scratch is now better at playing fetch and will, according to Larian, "fetch...pretty much everything".

Licking the spider meat while in the Gauntlet of Shar may now make you ill. As Larian says, "you should have listened to Gale". That's good advice for most situations.

These are just a taste of the extensive changes that have been made as part of this update, so make sure to check out the full Baldur's Gate 3 patch notes if you want to know every little detail.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available right now on PC and PlayStation 5, and contrary to what South Park might say, the two platforms do, in fact, support cross-save.

In her Baldur's Gate 3 review, TechRaptor's Erren gave the game 9.5 out of 10, pointing to its depth, compelling story, and world-building as reasons to pick it up.
