Today the Japanese arm of Atlus launched its annual survey to pick the minds of the fans on a variety of topics, including Persona 5: The Phantom X and future mainline games.
The survey, provided only in Japanese was actually slightly shorter compared to previous years (it used to be really enormous) but it still included some interesting questions.
One that will certainly pique the interest of many is whether the fans would play Persona 5: The Phantom X if it was released in Japan. For the moment, the game for iOS and Android has been officially announced only for the Chinese market, but apparently, Atlus is at least interested in releasing the game outside of its original target market.
Another interesting question that has been recurring every year is what platforms the fans would prefer to play the next numbered titles of the Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and Etrian Odyssey series.
The options available this year are PS4/PS4 Pro, PlayStation VR, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch OLED, Smartphone (free to play), Smartphone (purchase), Xbox, Steam, and Other. This is very similar to last year's question, with the only difference being the Switch split into two options.
As usual with this kind of survey, it shouldn't be considered as a set of announcements, but it's interesting to take a look at what Atlus wants to know from its fans, possibly offering a glimpse into the beloved developer's plans for the future.
Incidentally, at the moment a similar survey has not been made available for Western fans. Last year, the surveys for Japan and the West have been made available at the same time.
