Get pumped for some more Battle Royale content: Apex Legends Season 5 has officially been announced and it features the debut of the new Legend Loba!
Apex Legends has been out for a little over a year and it's pumped out a continuous stream of new content for players to enjoy. Now, the next batch of content has been announced. Season 5 doesn't just introduce a new Legend; it's also featuring the debut of a brand-new feature to mix up your Battle Royale gameplay.
What's coming in Apex Legends Season 5?
The fifth season of Apex Legends will undeniably be including a new Battle Pass for people to buy. Titled "Fortune's Favor", this new Battle pass will once again feature over 100 exclusive items.
Ranked Series 4 will also be making its debut as expected. If you're a competitively-focused Apex Legends player, you'll surely be anxious to hop into a brand-new season of competitive play!
A new Battle Pass and Ranked Series were certainly expected, but we're also getting a surprise for Season 5: quests. Quests will be active during the season and players can hunt for "treasure and answers" in the journey — the Season 5 landing page promises that those who complete these quests will be "richly rewarded."
Of course, it wouldn't be a new Apex Legends season with a new Legend, and we're getting exactly what many of us had hoped for: Loba.
Apex Legends Loba is the New Legend
A new Season usually means a new Legend, and our new girl Loba apparently has sticky fingers. Loba Andrade is the latest character to join the game in Apex Legends Season 5, and dataminers uncovered what may be some very interesting abilities.
Believe it or not, Loba may have been teased all the way back in February 2020. An intrepid Redditor spotted what looked like a dog running around in the background during a match. Some players have suggested that this might have been Wraith or some kind of visual glitch, but other players have also reported hearing dogs bark. (If you haven't quite gotten it yet, "Loba" means "wolf" in Portuguese and Spanish.)
There are not yet any more official details on Loba, but dataminers have uncovered what her new abilities may be.
What are Loba's abilities in Apex Legends?
- Burglar's Best Friend - Throw a disc and teleport to that location.
- Supply for Demand - Hold an unspecified offhand device and you'll reveal one of these five types of loot:
- Armor
- Health and Shields
- Attachments
- Backpacks
- Ammo and Grenades
- Black Market Boutique - Place a device that can steal all nearby loot.
- Eye for Quality - Loba can see loot through walls and can open up hidden compartments.
Again, this is just datamined information from a patch in early April 2020; it's possible that they may change for release. If they don't, it's looking like Loba is going to have a "thief" sort of theme.

And that's that for the new content! Things are shaping up nicely for the next season of Apex Legends, but there's still one question that we have to answer.
