The Apex Legends level cap is going up starting on December 3, 2019. What's more, players will also be receiving more rewards as they progress through the levels, including some shiny new ones like gun charms.

To start, the Apex Legends level cap is being raised from 100 to 600. The XP needed to hit Level 100 has been reduced by around 5% to make for a smoother progression curve.

The number of Apex Packs that can be earned has been increased several times over; previously, you could only get 45 packs on the way to Level 500. That number is now 199. Here's what you'll get as you progress:

  • Level 2 - 20: One pack every level (19 Apex Packs total)
  • Level 22 - 300: One pack every two levels (140 Apex Packs total)
  • Level 305 - 500: One pack every five levels (40 Apex Packs total)
  • You will continue to earn 600 Legend Tokens per level and per 18,000 XP at level 500

The Apex Packs rewards will be retroactive, so high-level players are likely to get some Apex Packs as soon as this new level cap is implemented. Moreover, the change to the XP curve from Level 1–100 will also mean that some players under Level 100 may find that they have gone up a level or two.

Apex Legends Level Cap Increase Introduces New Gun Charms

Adding to this very good news is the introduction of 37 new Gun Charms to Apex Packs. These are basically little decorations kind of like cell phone charms or keychains that hang off of players' guns. You can see some of the new charms in the news post about these changes to the game's progression system.

Leveling up will confer yet another bonus: players will get a special Gun Charm at Level 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 as seen in the image above. These new additions should bring even more value to your time in Apex Legends. You'll be able to reap the rewards of these changes starting on December 3, 2019.
