A new Anonymous;Code trailer has been released, and this one's all about gameplay mechanics.

In previous trailers, we've been introduced to characters like Azuma, Bambi, and our heroes Pollon and Momo, but this newest video focuses on how their story will unfold.

Specifically, the trailer is focusing on the Save and Load mechanic, which lets you freeze a certain moment in time and then return to it, just like a video game. The Hacking Trigger mechanic also gets a spotlight.

In the trailer, we first see Pollon and Momo discussing the Save and Load app, which has been added to Pollon's phone by mysterious means.

This mechanic allows Pollon to "save" as if he were in a game. He can then "load" that point in time using the Hacking Trigger button, which the player must press to determine when to load data.

However, Pollon doesn't initially trust you as the player. He thinks of you as a "super-hacker" who's trying to meddle in his life.

That's why you need to make sure you press the Hacking Trigger button at the right moments; Pollon will apparently decide whether he agrees with your timing or not, and if he doesn't, he won't do what you want.

If you manage to use the Save and Load functions as you should, you and Pollon will become inseparable partners, and you'll get to see how his story unfolds.

If you're unfamiliar with Anonymous;Code, it's the latest visual novel adventure from Steins;Gate creator Chiyomaru Shikura. It revolves around Pollon, a young man who decides to flee his past life, and Momo, a mysterious girl who's being pursued by unknown assailants.

Together, Pollon and Momo must discover the truth behind Momo's past and uncover a series of conspiracies that threaten to shake the world to its core.

You'll be able to check out Anonymous;Code when it launches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on September 8th.
