The American Truck Simulator Montana release date has just been announced for August 4, 2022, with the development team at SCS Software currently in the process of ironing out "any bugs and placing final additions into the map". If something goes wrong, SCS might change the release date, but as of right now while I'm writing this article, the American Truck Simulator Montana release date is locked in.
What can I expect from the the American Truck Simulator Montana DLC?
This news comes to us via an official Steam announcement. It's been a while since the initial DLC reveal, so some details might've been forgotten in the nine months or so since then. Basically, we're going to Montana. As a brief recap leading up to this point, there's been a bunch of updates since that announcement, with exploration and a new map feature being introduced, and the California Rework Phase 2 coming to the game as well. Moving back to the Montana DLC, players will be able to explore a huge portion of the northern United States.

Players can travel to Glacier and Yellowstone, two of the US's famous national parks. There will also be "glistening glacial lakes, snow-capped mountain peaks, blue-ribbon trout streams", according to SCS, as well as the Missouri, Yellowstone, and Flathead rivers. As one would expect from Montana, there's lots of mountains to stare at and a lot of small towns to drive through.
The Big Sky State also features ghost towns, state parks like Yellowstone, the Dinosaur Trail, and cowboys that won't be in the game as you're driving trucks, but you get the picture of what to expect from Montana. It's vast, unspoiled, and a place where you can drive off and be utterly alone. All in all, Montana sounds like a nice drive and pretty calming if you're into that kind of thing. The American Truck Simulator Montana DLC launches on August 4th, and you can wishlist it right now on Steam if you like.
