Nintendo Switch 2 Question Mark

Today Altec Lansing shared a press release about the Ai Shark gaming software, but the most surprising element is that it includes a release window for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The alleged release window is September 2024, as you can read in the following paragraph directly quoted from the press release.

The innovative gaming software is set to mark a significant leap forward in the gaming experience, bringing enhanced gameplay for beginner-level users. The official launch is planned to coincide with the Nintendo Switch 2 in September 2024.

The AI Shark

While the sentence about the Switch 2 appears to be worded factually, it may very well be speculation by Altec Lansing generated by recent rumors.

We have reached out to the company asking to clarify whether they have some degree of confidence or this is simply speculation, and we'll let you know if we receive an official response.

For now, Nintendo has not announced the release window of the so-called Switch 2. As a matter of fact, the Kyoto-based console manufacturer has not even hinted at it being a real product in the works.

Speaking of the AI Shark itself, it's described as coming as either a software solution or a chipset peripheral that utilizes "XGPT technology and real-time TPU acceleration" to help players in a variety of ways.

It's not advertised as a cheating solution like its predecessor GameShark. The press release and trailer that you can see below claim that it will expose enemy tactics, for instance by removing ambient noise and amplifying footsteps.

On top of that, we also hear about a virtual coaching feature that claims to be like a "professional gamer sitting near you," providing suggestions and help during gameplay.

The AI Shark solution is claimed to work on all platforms and to be adaptable to "various gaming peripherals, including gaming keyboards, headphones and mice."

Todd Hays, Founder of Ai Shark, appears to be definitely confident in a statement.

Harnessing the power of AI, supercomputers and our exceptional code-writing team, we are aiming to eclipse the original GameShark's triumphs tenfold and redefine the gaming landscape on a global scale

TechRaptor has not independently verified any such claims, so we are reproducing them as-is for reporting purposes. We'll see later this year whether AI Shark's promises will materialize or not.

This is just another piece of the puzzle of the generative AI discourse that continues among gaming industry professionals.

For instance, Several companies including Microsoft, Square Enix, and Ubisoft have expressed interest in aggressively using AI in the development of their games.
