Details about Alan Wake
One of the most underrated cinematic adventure games ever made, Alan Wake is a deft mix of survival horror and storytelling from Remedy Entertainment, the team behind the original Max Payne games.
Play as Alan Wake, a crime fiction author as he is caught up in a mystery of his own. After arriving in the small town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan must traverse the town and surrounding woodland areas, trying desperately to survive against the darkness, a malevolent force slowly taking over the entire town. His best weapon is the light of his flashlight, which weakens the creatures enough to harm them.
Featuring a twisted, suspenseful thriller story and two Special Feature DLC packs, The Writer and The Signal, Alan Wake was a sleeper hit when originally released in 2010, spawning a quasi-sequel a few years later. In 2021, publisher Epic Games is re-releasing a remastered version of Alan Wake, titled Alan Wake: Remasted. Alan Wake Remastered will include all DLC and a 4k visual upgrade.
Alan Wake: Remastered will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S and X. The original Alan Wake is available for PC and Xbox 360.

Wake is soon forced to question his sanity, as page by page, the story comes true before his eyes: a hostile presence of supernatural darkness is taking over everyone it finds, turning them against him. He has no choice but to confront the forces of darkness armed only with his flashlight, a handgun and what remains of his shredded mind. His nightmarish journey to find answers to the mind-bending mystery he faces will lead him into the terrifying depths of the night.
Alan Wake Remastered offers the complete experience, with the main game and its two story expansions - The Signal and The Writer - in stunning new 4K visuals. The tense, episodic story is packed with unexpected twists, heart-stopping cliff hangers, and intense bursts of combat where it takes more than bullets to banish the darkness. The game’s cutscenes, quirky cast of characters, and the majestic Pacific Northwest vistas have been enhanced for an experience that delivers as much on its visual impact as its unnerving atmosphere.
