Telltale Games has partnered with film studio Lionsgate to create an unprecedented "Super Show", a series where episodes are one part interactive and playable, and another part scripted television. This will also be TellTale's first original IP.

Joining TellTale's Board of Director's are none other than John Ricitiello, former CEO of EA, and Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, to over see the project.

The Super Show will use both forms of media to convey its story, Both aspects will be "first class citizens" according to Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner.

Our goal is to create products that have a legitimate chance of winning both a Golden Globe and a Game of the Year.

- Kevin Bruner speaking to Entertainment Weekely

Bruner also spoke on the possibility of other IP's being possible for this format, but that because of the different nature's of these two media, one being very tightly created, while the other requiring flexibility, it could prove difficult. However, Bruner said he could imagine building future Super Shows when the IP makes sense for it.

Telltale Games  wants both versions to be tied to one another. Viewers/players will be able to play either versions first, and then later experience the other half. The interactive episodes will never release on their own, but instead will always have a scripted counterpart releasing with it.

Many questions and statements can be taken away from this news, one thing is for sure: Telltales is playing with the big boys now, and it's bringing some really big and original ideas to the table. Telltale has certainly improved itself in a remarkable way over the past few years. Before their run away success with The Walking Dead, Telltale had very little in the way of huge success, and now their creating an original multimedia story with a major film studio as well.

What is your take on this? Are you excited to be seeing what might very well be an entirely new form of media? How do you feel about John Riccitiello joining Telltale Games? Do you think Telltale and Lionsgate will pull this off? Sound off in the comments below!
