Today Italian site Lega Network got their hands on some pictures of new Destiny 2 promotional posters, supposedly from GameStop Italy. The posters reveal a release date of September 8, as well as that a beta will be coming this summer, to PlayStation 4 first. After the posters were leaked Eurogamer stated that their sources confirm the legitimacy of the posters and say that the beta will be coming in June.
As of right now, Bungie has not made a statement on whether the posters are real or not, but Jason Schreier of Kotaku tweeted that his sources tell him Bungie will be officially revealing Destiny 2 “soon”. This leak comes after Bungie announced the final live event for Destiny, Age of Triumph, so it’s not much of a surprise that they have been turning their attention fully onto the sequel.
One interesting thing to note about the poster is that the Titan seems to be carrying the exotic auto rifle “Hard Light”, possibly suggesting that certain exotic weapons from Destiny will make their way into Destiny 2. For now, we’ll have to wait for Bungie to officially announce Destiny 2 until we can know for certain if the information that has been leaked is accurate.
As a big fan of Destiny I’m excited to see the improvements that Bungie is going to bring to Destiny 2, and very much looking forward to June for the beta (if the information being leaked is to be trusted). Hopefully, the appearance of “Hard Light” on the posters means more exotics will be coming to Destiny 2, with any luck my favorite “Red Death” will get chosen to get brought over. When Bungie does officially reveal Destiny 2 I hope they give us more than what has already been leaked.
