Independent game studio Arcanity Inc. is launching their game Tanzia on Steam’s Early Access. The action role playing game is currently in closed beta and will be available in Early Access on Thursday, April 27th. Check out the game’s trailer below.

Named after the game’s island setting, Tanzia is about a shaman protecting their home from an ancient evil. In your adventures you’ll follow in the steps of your Akazi ancestors as they guide you on your journey. Along the way you’ll hone your skills, growing more powerful and learning magical skills.

The deeper into the island you venture the more challenging enemies you’ll face. Players will learn to use arcanity and gain access to useful spells as well as alchemy which can enhance your skills and even improve your spells. Gems can be found around the world and used for upgrades.

Tanzia

Watch out for monsters like spiders.

Inspired by classic action adventure RPGs, Tanzia is an open 3D world to explore. Industry veteran Kevin Saunders (senior designer on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, lead designer on Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, and project director for much of Torment: Tides of Numenera) helped develop the game’s intriguing story. This is Arcanity Inc.’s first independent project created by designers, artists and programmers formerly from established studios like inXile Entertainment, Obsidian Entertainment, Sony Online Entertainment and Westwood Studios.

When Tanzia launches in Early Access it will include all but the last few chapters to play through. Those few missing chapters are promised to be added later before the game exits Early Access. During this period players can expect small updates in-between builds to take care of bugs. When reaching the end of a build players will be able to keep playing so that they can keep leveling up, buying gear and finishing side quests.

Tanzia

Use fireballs, freeze spells and more magic to defeat your enemies.

Tanzia will enter Early Access on Steam Thursday, April 27th. Visit the game’s official website for more news and details.
