It’s been a rough ride for Mortal Kombat X PC players since it’s launch last April, as from the start it has been a complete mess. This continued until eight months ago when it was officially abandoned, with PC players being told that they were not receiving Mortal Kombat XL which included big netcode fixes and Kombat Pack 2, which had famous characters such as the Predator.
Fast forward eight months later, and it seems as though things have changed for the better. A thread posted on NeoGaf showed screenshots and evidence that PC players would finally receive the XL version of Mortal Kombat X, with the ‘Mortal Kombat Enhanced Online Beta‘ already available from now until August 29th at 3 PM UTC. A quick glance on the official forums reveals some more information, with WB Mike stating that players will be able to experience the “enhanced rollback system and other updates made for our PC players” during the course of the beta.
For those that want to play the beta, be sure to go to Mortal Kombat X‘s Steam page and download it. However, be aware that the download is just over 23 GB, so be prepared to make some space on your hard drive.
It’s good to hear that Mortal Kombat X is finally getting fixed, and even better to hear that regardless of whether or not you own the game on PC you will be able to try out the beta. It’s been a very frustrating year for PC Mortal Kombat fans, but hopefully this means that PC players will finally get a fully working version of Mortal Kombat X. Better late than never, I guess.
