Last night at the Game Awards we got our first look at Rise of the Tomb Raider‘s DLC Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch. Now even more information has been announced not only about Baba Yaga but other add-ons coming to Rise of the Tomb Raider later this month and next year.

Closest to now, Endurance Mode will be available December 29th. In Endurance Mode you start with absolutely nothing and it is up to you to catch, collect, or craft everything that you need. You will need to use everything to try to last as long as possible in this survival mode and compete with your friends on the leaderboards. This game mode will also include a new outfit and weapon.

The first of the new story DLC’s is Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch that will be available early 2016. In this DLC Lara journeys into the forbidden forest in Siberie where Soviets disappeared without a trace. When she gets there though she finds that there is something going on she can’t explain. Is it the witch Baba Yaga or is there something else going on? This DLC will add in new enemies, new puzzles, and a big fight against an ancient evil. This DLC will include a new outfit and a new bow.

The next addition will be called Cold Darkness Awakened. In this a weapons research base has been breached causing man and beast to become mindless killers. Lara needs to fight these enemies while gaining additional equipment and gear as she tries to survive. It’s up to you to try to find a way to stop and maybe even reverse this illness. This DLC also includes a new outfit and weapon.

Other outfits that are going to be available in 2016 with the season pass are as follows:

  • Immortal Guardian outfit that reduces damage from greek fite. You also get the ‘piercing truth’ dagger
  • Ancient Vanguard outfit that allows Lara to begin regenerating health faster and “Guiding Light” Bow skin
  • Nightshade outfit giving Lara the chance of looting an exotic animal resource from any common animals and the “Deathsong” bloody Hatchet

These also come with card packs with a couple of cards having a guaranteed chance of being rare.

All of these DLC’s will be available stand alone or with the purchase of the Season Pass on either Xbox 360 or Xbox One. If you want to check out our review for Rise of the Tomb Raider then feel free.

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
