With the Tokyo Game Show expected to commence later next week, it is now said that Earth Defense Force 5 will be announced prior to the upcoming event.

As reported on Gematsu, the announcement was leaked on the official Tokyo Game Show app. It is said that Earth Defense Force 5 will be released on PlayStation 4, and will be announced by Sony during pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference held on September 13th.

Under the D3 Publishing label, the description of Earth Defense Force 5 also mentions that the title will be playable at the event as well (image below). With that said, no doubt we will be seeing some gameplay footage within the next week.

In addition to D3, Square Enix is also expected to show off a new title, alongside some more previews of Final Fantasy XV.

In a more recent post, Koei Tecmo has also announced their lineup for the Tokyo event; with previews of Berserk, Nioh, and Toukiden 2 said to be showed off as well.

Tokyo Game Show is set to commence on September 15th, and finish up on the 18th.
