We reported a few days ago that Earth Defense Force 5 was likely to get announced during TGS. Just like we expected, D3 Publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force 5 will be coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan, sometime next year. Although the game's trailer doesn't seem to tell us too much, the title appears to be running on the same engine as last year's Earth Defense Force 4.1. In addition, some new enemies - like Giant Space Frogs With Guns - will debut in the title, alongside the return of series staples such as Giant Freaking Spiders and Giant Mutant Alien Space Bees. D3 Publisher has created a site for the new title, and has uploaded the TGS trailer to Youtube. (embedded below)
