Doomfist, Mei, and Sombra have all gotten buffs in the latest patch for Overwatch according to the patch notes posted on the game’s official forums.

This trio of characters had their changes in testing on the PTR for the last two weeks. All of the changes for Doomfist, Mei, and Sombra have gone through without any adjustment to their values whatsoever.

Doomfist has had a single tweak in this patch, buffing his ammo recovery rate from 0.8 seconds to 0.65 seconds. Mei’s freeze duration has been buffed by 50%, giving her just a bit more time to deal with some of those particularly tricky heroes to pin down. The ammo cost of her icicles has been reduced to 20 from 25, effectively giving her two extra shots before having to reload.

Sombra is the hero that has had the most movement in her stats and abilities. To start, her EMP will no longer be blocked by smaller objects like signs or lamp posts. (Players facing off an enemy D.Va can still take refuge from an incoming nuke behind the safety of the almighty No Parking sign.) It might be a bit more difficult to get it charged up, though – she’ll no longer gain Ultimate charge from players using her hacked health packs. Her standard hack cast time has been reduced from 0.8 seconds to 0.65 seconds and it now disables a few additional abilities. Genji’s Cyber Agility (double jump and wall climb), Hanzo’s Wall Climb, Pharah’s Hover Jets, Lúcio’s active song and wall ride, and Mercy’s Angelic Descent (gliding) are all now vulnerable to the machinations of the mischievous Mexican hacker. Additionally, the spread on Sombra’s Machine Pistol has been tightened a good bit (From 3 to 2.7), her translocator now lasts for 5 seconds longer, and she can now see enemy health bars through walls if they’re even a sliver below 100% health. (The paper doll image of an enemy will still only show up when they drop below 50% health.)

This patch mostly focused on these hero changes, although Blizzard World did see some of its health pack placements changed up and a couple of bug fixes were implemented. As for the Overwatch League, it’s unlikely that these changes will be implemented until the beginning of Stage 3 per the league’s policy on patching. Hanzo, Symmetra, and Torbjörn are all slated for getting worked on in the near future. For now, three of the game’s heroes have some nice new buffs to play with.

What do you think of the changes to Doomfist, Mei, and Sombra? Do you think these characters need any additional tweaking? Let us know in the comments below!
