Coachella has returned to Fortnite for another unforgettable weekend (well, week). A new island is available for you and your friends to hang out on, and as if that wasn't enough, you can also look forward to new minigames, quests, and cosmetics to celebrate the crossover.
Fortnite is well-known for its crossovers with major IPs like Star Wars, Dragon Ball, and Attack on Titan, as well as its collaborations with real-world stars like Ariana Grande and Travis Scott. We're in the latter camp for this newest holiday, which brings the renowned Coachella festival to Fortnite's doors once more.
First up, Coachella Island gives you and your buddies a new environment to explore over in the game's Discover mode. You can look forward to various themed locations, team-on-team minigames, and quests that will let you earn special items, and it's all soundtracked by Coachella 2023 artist Porter Robinson. The island will remain open after the Coachella collab ends, too.
If you're heading into Fortnite Battle Royale, then there's still plenty of Coachella-themed content to enjoy. A new in-game task will have you road trippin' with your favorite allies (or by your lonesome) to earn a loading screen, and Coachella is also taking over Icon Radio until May 12th, playing a variety of artists from the festival across the airwaves.
New cosmetics will also be available to mark this auspicious collaboration. The Sunset Alto Outfit includes two elements that will both react to music, as will the Desert Dawn Lyric set. There's also the new Desert Breeze Wrap weapon style, which responds to music as well. It makes a lot of sense that the Coachella collab would bring music-reactive elements, right?
You can fire up Fortnite and check out the Coachella collaboration right now. The event runs until April 28th, but you'll still be able to explore Coachella Island after that date, so don't worry if you miss anything. Fortnite is available on PC, consoles, and mobile devices (although it's technically only available on iOS via cloud streaming).
