The Fortnite v23.30 update is upon us, bringing the colorful world of Dragon Ball back to the battle royale title. New characters from the manga series are appearing in the game, and you can look forward to returning items and locations from the previous Dragon Ball collab as well. Of course, there's more to look forward to in the update beyond Dragon Ball!

This isn't the first Fortnite Dragon Ball collab, so items like the Kamehameha projectile and the Nimbus Cloud mobility item aren't new, although they may well be welcome if you loved using them as part of your strategy. Son Gohan and Piccolo are making their first appearance in Fortnite fresh from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and this update also marks the return of the Dragon Ball Adventure Island.

Said island brings areas inspired by Dragon Ball, as well as a PvP arena to test your might against other players. You'll also be able to complete weekly quests on this island for a Gohan Beast Spray unlock, and from February 7th, another weekly quest will become available, allowing you to unlock the Orange Piccolo Spray.

Dragon Ball Adventure Island returns in the new Fortnite v23.30 update.

The Son Gohan and Piccolo outfits in Fortnite both come with a built-in Charging Up emote, which allow you to switch forms. Gohan gains access to a Super Saiyan form, while Piccolo changes to his Power Awakening form. You can also choose to play as these forms from the Locker if you want to.

It's not all just Dragon Ball-related stuff, though. This update also brings five new Reality Augments to Fortnite, including the ability to get Shadow Bombs from containers and a speed boost when sliding. Other changes include the disabling of Wind Currents for the entirety of this update, as well as Weekly Quests no longer expiring after a week.

Be sure to read the full Fortnite v23.30 patch notes to see what other changes Epic has made; you wouldn't want to be caught out if you're angling to be the best, after all. The notes also contain a wide range of bug fixes and other small improvements, so the overall experience should be smoother now as well.
