Today Epic Games announced the next major update for its popular survival crafting game LEGO Fortnite.

The update, numbered v29.10 and titled "Mechanical Mayhem," will be released tomorrow, March 26.

As the name will likely help you guess, the update focuses on vehicles, and there's a lot on the menu.

Lego fortnite Mechanical Mayhem Hauler

You can build three preset vehicles, the quick Speeder, the rugged Offroader that can carry multiple passengers, and the Hauler, with a big trunk for heavy lifting.

Of course, you can also make custom vehicles by using relevant parts like the Power Center (basically the engine) and Power Cells to power it, wheels (powered and turnable), Seats, and Driver's Seats.

You can build a compost bin to convert resources into Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. Biomass can be used to create Power Cells.

We also get a new tool, the wrench, which lets you assign Switches and Thrusters to channels. This lets you control thrusters separately by assigning them to up to three switches.

Lastly, illuminators do exactly what they say on the tin, and can be used as vehicle lights, albeit they're not limited to vehicles.

The update also includes new villagers, new LEGO Styles for existing skins, and new food recipes, the Ice Cream, Snowberry Ice Cream, and Spicy Ice Cream.

Below you can read the rest of the patch notes.

GAMEPLAY

  • New smart transfer feature: transfer all similar items to and from storage.

  • It's easier to visually tell when your constructs take damage.

    • With the new vehicle building features, we had to adjust some durability values. We recommend using higher-rarity resources to strengthen your constructs if any part breaks.

  • Items can be dropped one at a time when a stack is picked up.

  • Pools of fish can be found near new (but somehow already run-down) docks that are alongside lakes and rivers.

  • Made improvements to constructs so they remain stable when entering and exiting caves.

  • Made stabilization fixes for constructs traveling large distances across the world.

OTHER

  • The Stormy Emote will be updated to its full, intended animation in LEGO Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite is currently available on every platform on which you can play Fortnite, which just received a new season a couple of weeks ago

The game is part of Epic Games' strategy to transform the game from a battle royale title into a full-fledged metaverse offering many different gameplay experiences alongside Rocket Racing by Rocket League studio Psyonix, and Fornite Festival by Rock Band developer Harmonix.

Incidentally, you'll soon be able to play more easily on mobile platforms via the upcoming Epic Games Store app on iOS and Android
