A Pathfinder Savage Worlds Core Rulebook has launched on Kickstarter and there's still plenty of time to pick up a copy for yourself before it arrives later this year.
Pathfinder is a tabletop RPG that's well familiar to fans of Dungeons & Dragons — it takes many of the same core systems and iterates on them, providing a different and more complex role-playing game experience that gamers might not get out of modern D&D. It's proved to be pretty popular in its own right, so much so that it's had its own video game created.
Savage Worlds, however, is likely less well-known. This, too, is a tabletop RPG and it was first released back in 2003. As with most such systems, it stands out with its own little touches in the genre; for example, player stats are represented by specific dice such as a D6 or D12 rather than static points. Now, the Pathfinder universe is coming to the Savage Worlds system!
Pathfinder Savage Worlds Kickstarter is Already a Success
The Pathfinder Savage Worlds Kickstarter is already a success and then some. The campaign initially asked for just $8,000; at the time of writing, it currently stands at $195,000 and counting. That's 24 times its original goal!
Most surprisingly, however, is that this campaign just started a short while ago: there are 26 days remaining in the campaign. That means that you have the chance to pick it up and dive into a different kind of game system while still remaining in a world that may be more familiar to you.
Pledges start at $25 for players and $50 for Game Masters for digital copies; opting for a physical edition means that the prices double to $50 for players and $100 for Game Masters, respectively. Naturally, there are some premium choices, too: you can get a boxed set for $200–$300 that includes a bunch of neat extra goodies.
When is the Pathfinder Savage Worlds Release Date?
The Pathfinder Savage Worlds release date will be sometime in April 2021 for the digital versions of the player and GM's books. If you'd prefer a physical copy instead, there's a bit of bad news — you'll have to wait until September 2021 to get your books in hand. (Fortunately, the physical pledges also include digital copies of the books, too.)
