The internet loves to pet dogs, just look at that one insanely popular Twitter account. Now, a game promises to give you all the puppy pets you could ever need. Hair of the Dog is an upcoming dog-petting tabletop game where players must compete to pet as many puppies as possible, heading to Kickstarter later this year.
Hair of the Dog Charity Playtesting
Hair of the Dog, as the name suggests, is a game about petting dogs, and buying drinks. Set in the humble, titular pub, you play a person whose friend group is completely devoid of dogs. Your goal is to get as much dog-based attention as possible while staying on the good side of the waitstaff by buying enough drinks. Each dog will only let you pet them if you meet certain criteria, and the waiters will shame you if you don't buy enough drinks, so it's a battle to be a slightly drunk master of dog-to-human contact.

If you just can't wait to get your hands on the game then you're in luck. Right now the creators, Cherry Picked Games, are holding a very special playtest. You can download a PNP (print and play) version of the game over at the company's website, and fill out a survey once you're done to provide some feedback. For each survey the company receives, they'll donate $5 to The Humane Society of the United States. So not only will you be petting dogs in-game, but you'll be helping dogs in the real world.
Try Before You Back
Hair of the Dog is expected to hit Kickstarter in early 2021, so if you want to try it out before backing it now is your chance. You can get more information about the upcoming game at the company's website where you will also be able to download a playtest PNP package.
