Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood has been announced. This is the first in a new season of content coming to the board game spin-off of Games Workshop's heavy metal epic fantasy miniatures game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It will also provide a new entry point for players interested in trying out the game.

What is in Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood?

According to an official Warhammer Community post, Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood continues the Heart of Ghur season as seen in another Age of Sigmar spin-off, Warcry. This new core set will set players deep within the titular Gnarlwood, a hostile and vicious forest packed with man-eating plants and dangerous creatures.

Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood will contain two warbands. First, there is the Gnarlspirit Pack, a band of Darkoath pariahs completely consumed by animalistic spirits. Not only are these strong warriors in their own right, but their animal spirits can also bolster their strength even further. They are led by the shaman Sarrakar Blackwing. Second, there is the Sons of Velmorn a band of warriors that fell during the Age of Chaos but have returned as undead warriors by a relic called the Tyrant's Crown. They are led by their own sovereign, King Velmorn.

Definitely a smaller way to experience the Mortal Realms.

Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood will also provide resources for new and advanced players. First, there is a revised core rulebook that provides players with straightforward rules for the fast-paced nature of the board game. Furthermore, there are separate sections that provide advanced rules for more experienced players. This extends to the Rival Decks found in the box. There are four decks in total. Two of these decks are specifically tailored for the Gnarlspirit Pack and Sons of Velmorn. The other two are universal, Tooth and Claw and Daring Delvers, which can be used by Warband in the game. New players can stick to the premade ones while advanced players can build their own with the additional cards provided.

When will Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood be available?

At the time of writing, there is no release date or MSRP for Warhammer Underworlds Gnarwood.
