Google Stadia was a game streaming service released by Google on November 19, 2019. While the service could be used via Google devices such as Chromecast Ultra and Android TVs (the former being bundled together with a Stadia controller), it was also possible to access game streaming via browser or mobile app.

Users could sign up for Stadia Pro, a monthly subscription service allowing them to stream games at 4K — a number of games would also be offered to subscribers each month at no extra cost. Games could also be bought directly, but streaming would be limited to 1080p without a Pro subscription.

However, a lack of interest in Stadia led to Google announcing that the service would end on January 18, 2023. All software purchase were refunded, with some Stadia-exclusive games making their way to other platforms.
