Today's a big day of announcements for Microsoft and Xbox, and The Witcher 3 Game Pass announcement was among them. Strangely, this little tidbit of information wasn't made via some big media presentation. Instead, it was contained, rather simply, within a short Twitch ad.
The Twitch ad which revealed The Witcher 3 Game Pass announcement was submitted to /r/xboxone. It simply shows four games in a sequence that are either already on or coming to Xbox Game Pass. The ad begins with Gears 5 for console and PC and is followed by The Outer Worlds for console and PC, Devil May Cry 5 for console, and finally, The Witcher 3.
Now that we know The Witcher 3 is coming to Game Pass, only one question remains — which platforms are going to get it?
Which Platforms Get The Witcher 3 Game Pass?
One question you might be wondering is which platforms will get access to The Witcher 3 Game Pass. If you're a PC gamer and you don't already own this great game by CD Projekt Red, the news ain't so good.
In short, it seems that The Witcher 3 will only be made available to Xbox Game Pass holders on the Xbox One. While the PC version is sold on both Steam and the DRM-free digital retailer GOG, it's not yet available on PC within Microsoft's ecosystem — a detail that is easily discovered by checking out the game's page on the Microsoft Store.
That's not to say that The Witcher 3 will never be made available via Microsoft's PC store; it just isn't right now. We may well see it get added in the future. In the meantime, you can grab The Witcher 3 on Steam and DRM-free on GOG for $39.99 or your regional equivalent.
