Shiro Games has once again updated the 2023 Wartales roadmap, teasing the game's first major content update after its 1.0 launch earlier this year.
In the roadmap update post, Shiro says that Community Update 2, which was also teased in the last roadmap update back in June, is just around the corner. It's set to arrive in September.
What's new this time around is the first big Major Update for Wartales, which is scheduled to come at some point in Q4 2023.
That update will contain a brand new class to get to grips with, as well as new enemies, items, and skills. More character customization options will be added, and there's more as-yet unannounced stuff to look forward to as well.
All of that will come for free for all Wartales players, too, although there's also some paid DLC that's scheduled to land at some point in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The paid DLC will bring a new region and storyline to enjoy, as well as a "new way to navigate the world", which sounds pretty promising, especially if you've found Wartales' traversal to be a little sluggish.
Other features in the DLC include new "unique gameplay", although Shiro doesn't disclose what that gameplay might be, tantalizingly. You can also look forward to a new progression system, new champion, and lots more.
Wartales is a gritty tactical RPG that launched in Early Access all the way back in late 2021, eventually getting itself a full release date in April of this year.
Since its release, the game has seen a number of major updates, adding features like co-op gameplay, fast travel, and more. It's attracted a rather enviable Very Positive rating on Steam across over 17,000 reviews, too.
