Valkyrie Elysium is on track for a September release on PlayStation (and a November release on Steam), but a need for extra polish has seen Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth delayed. The upcoming port of the classic RPG will now arrive in December on PS4 and PS5.

Why was Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth delayed?

It may have made its way to smartphones already, but unfortunately, you're going to have to wait just a little longer to play Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on modern PlayStation systems. Speaking via Twitter, Square Enix announced a Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth delay, citing a need for extra development time.

The studio says that it needs "a bit more time" to "improve the quality" of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. As such, the release date has been pushed back to December 22nd. If you picked up the Digital Deluxe Edition of the upcoming Valkyrie Elysium, then you'll get Lenneth on December 22nd, but you won't have to pay any extra, so don't worry; you're just getting your game a little later.

Well, you'll have to wait a bit longer to find that out, Lenneth.

The release of Valkyrie Elysium isn't being affected by this delay, so if you're looking forward to playing the latest game in the Valkyrie saga, don't worry; it's still on track for a September 29th release on PS4 and PS5. It'll also be arriving on Steam on November 11th, although you'll only be able to pick Lenneth up on PlayStation consoles, unfortunately.

The upcoming port of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth brings the PSP version of the game to the PS4 and PS5. This port adds full motion video to various story events in the game and makes a number of other changes. Notably, this won't be the mobile version from 2018, which enhanced the visuals and added various quality-of-life improvements like skippable cutscenes and an improved translation. Never mind, eh? We'll bring you more on the Valkyrie games as soon as we get it, so stay tuned to TechRaptor.
