Twitch announced their plans today for their first ever convention: TwitchCon.

The live stream site's first convention will happen September 25 to September 26 of this year. The convention will be held in Moscone West, San Francisco.

Other than the name, date, and location, there isn't that much information about the streaming site's plans as of yet. On the sites official blog, Twitch described the convention as:

A celebration of all things Twitch, TwitchCon will be an interactive convention for broadcasters and viewers alike to meet each other, learn how to take your Twitch game to the next level, and play together.
Other things like schedules, panels, housing, ticket prices, etc. were said to be coming in the next weeks and months. The blog went into a little more detail about what kind of convention we can expect, including fans meeting streamers, chances for live content, and hearing from some of the big guys on Twitch.
Created as a celebration of all things Twitch, the convention will attract members of the Twitch community from all over the globe. Attendees will have the chance to mingle with each other and their favorite broadcasters, experience live content from the convention center, and learn from the community’s thought-leaders.
The convention holds some possibilities for streamers to boost their audiences, and maybe even set up some collaborations with other streamers. With so little information to go off of, we can't be sure what kind of convention this will turn out to be. Whether it be for more organized discussions and meet ups, or a more laid back arena for creators, fans, and aspiring up and comers.
“Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person,” said Emmett Shear, CEO, Twitch.

TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together.

Back in August, Amazon purchased Twitch for a whopping $1 Billion, citing the companies' shared values and long term visions.
