Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands has been absent from digital stores for some time. Now, it's been announced that the game will be making its way back to digital storefronts this month.
Tales from the Borderlands first launched all the way back in 2014. This was very different from games like Borderlands 3; it was an adventure game done by Telltale Games, the same company that brought you games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us (among many other games in the same style).
Unfortunately, Telltale Games had a bit of financial trouble in the late 2010s. It effectively closed down and that led to most of its games being removed from digital storefronts, Tales from the Borderlands included. It's been all but impossible to get your hands on Telltale's take on Borderlands unless you bought a physical copy or managed to find a digital key at a third-party retailer.
Telltales Games' properties have since started slowly coming back to life; it most recently brought back three of its classic games to Steam in late 2020. Now, Telltale's Borderlands game will soon be available for purchase once again.
When Can You Buy Tales from the Borderlands Again?
Tales from the Borderlands will be available for purchase again on February 17, 2021. It's not quite clear what storefronts the game will be returning to; presumably, it will be available on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store to start.
"Tales from the Borderlands returns to storefronts February 17!" read a tweet from the game's official account "Set between Borderlands 2 and 3, Tales from the Borderlands follows the stories of Rhys, a Hyperion suit, and Fiona, a con artist, on a quest borne of greed but destined for greatness."
When is the Borderlands 3 Director's Cut Release Date?
The Borderlands 3 Director's Cut release date is March 18, 2021. This special edition of the latest core Borderlands game was also announced today.
It looks like the next couple of months are going to be great for Borderlands! For now, you can add Tales from the Borderlands to your wishlist on Steam. You'll be able to play it again on February 17.
