The Steam Winter Sale 2017 is rumored to start tomorrow as reported by Kotaku UK earlier in October 2017.

The holiday season is here and that means it's high time for some deep discounts on video games both old and new. The Steam Winter Sale 2017 is fast approaching, although we typically won't know when the event will launch until it's already here - unless someone leaks the news. Perhaps fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on the state of your bank account), it seems that a handful of developers have let the start date slip earlier in October of this year.

The rumored start date for the 2017 sale is December 21, 2017 - that's tomorrow! The leak included start dates for the Steam Halloween Sale 2017 and Steam Autumn Sale 2017. The start dates for those previous two sales proved to be true, with the Halloween sale beginning on October 26, 2017, and the Autumn Sale beginning on November 22, 2017, exactly as the leakers said they would. The Winter Sale is expected to run for 14 days, ending on January 4, 2018.

Though the sources have been right on the money two out of three times, it must be stressed that this is still an unconfirmed rumor. Valve might tweak things on their end for one reason or another, or the last date might have been inaccurate in the first place. Heck, we might even have some good old technical delays gumming up the works - it certainly wouldn't be unusual for the launch of a big sale to temporarily cripple the Steam storefront for a little while.

We won't really know for certain until the sale arrives proper, but it looks like the odds are good considering the track record of this particular leak thus far. The Steam Winter Sale 2017 is rumored to begin on December 21, 2017, at 12:50 PM Eastern Time and end on January 4, 2018, at 1:05 PM Eastern Time. Happy deal hunting, gamers!

Do you think the Steam Winter Sale 2017 will begin on the rumored start date & time on December 21, 2017? What games are you hoping to buy at a steep discount this year? Let us know in the comments below!
