Following the debut of last year's virtual band K/DA, Riot announced today another musical sensation poised to sweep the globe: True Damage. True Damage's members, comprised of League of Legends champions Qiyana, Senna, Akali, Ekko, and Yasuo, will receive new skins. The skin line will be available for purchase starting November 10. The band will also perform in the Opening Ceremony for the League of Legends World Championship in Paris, France. Presented by Mastercard, the Ceremony begins 1:00 PM (CET) at the AccorHotels Arena.
In addition, special Prestige skins designed for Qiyana and Senna are available. Developed by Louis Vuitton's Artistic Director of Women's Collections Nicolas Ghesquière, Qiyana's is available November 10, and Senna's will follow in early 2020. Players can unlock the Prestige skin for Qiyana only by playing games during the Worlds 2019 in-game event. The in-game event will run until November 25 at 7:00 PM (CET). Louis Vuitton is also planning a capsule collection inspired by the Prestige skins, which the company plans to reveal in the near future.
The members of True Damage are portrayed by Becky G., Keke Palmer, SOYEON of (G)I-DLE, DUCKWRTH, and Thutmose. Together, they will perform the virtual band's new single GIANTS at the World Championship Finals. Lead Producer of League of Legends Jessica Nam remarked on the 2009 game's growth.
When League of Legends was released ten years ago, none of us could imagine the cultural phenomenon that it has become. Now it’s clear that gaming sits at the center of pop culture, and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with such great talent to showcase what League represents to the world.
Debuting in 2009, League of Legends has grown to become one of the most-played PC games in the world. It is a major player in the world of esports. Last year's World Championship Finals drew in an estimated 99.6 million unique viewers.
