Today NIS America announced that it will localize Furyu's upcoming action JRPG Reynatis for the American and European markets.

We don't just get a localization announcement for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, but predictably the game is also coming to PC via Steam and you can already wishlist it

If you're unfamiliar with this action JRPG, it was announced at the latest Nintendo Direct Partner showcase and fully unveiled with more details and a full trailer earlier this morning.

A grioup of characters in Reynatis

If you're wondering, it was actually skipped in the Western version of the Nintendo Direct and only shown in the Japanese version for unfathomable reasons, since it was one of the coolest games on the show.

Reynatis' story is written by Kazushige Nojima, writer of many Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games, including the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, also known for her work on the same series among many other beloved franchises.

The character design is by illustrator Yasutaka Kaburagi while TAKUMI will be in the role of creative producer.

The game is set in a painstaking reproduction of the famous Shibuya ward of Tokyo, with many recognizable landmarks and stores, that players will be able to explore. That being said, it's a fictional version of our world in which magic exists and wizards have to hide because they're feared and oppressed.

The protagonists are Marin, a young man seeking freedom through power, and Sari, an officer of an organization named MEA that endeavors to keep magic users under control. The story is told through both of their points of view.

Players can swap freely between "Suppressed" and "Liberated" modes both in combat and during exploration.

The former forbids you from attacking and lets you dodge attacks at the press of a button. It also lets you conceal your identity and explore the city and interact with NPCs peacefully. The latter unlocks powerful attacks at the price of defense, and lets you traverse via magical means, but you risk being reported and attacked.

There are 6 different playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, from summoning to aerial attacks.

On top of Shibuya ward, the game is also set in the magical parallel world of Another, a fantasy land with dangerous monsters to fight and many secrets to unlock.

Speaking of the localization, voice-overs will be available only in Japanese, while text will be translated in English.
