The brilliantly-named HyperMegaTech has announced the Super Pocket, a new retro arcade handheld that comes complete with a bunch of classic arcade titles for you to enjoy. It comes in two editions: the Capcom Edition and the Taito Edition, both of which have a different lineup of games.
The Super Pocket Capcom Edition boasts an impressive 12 games, only one of which isn't technically an arcade game. Its lineup includes original arcade versions of Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, 1942, and Final Fight, as well as the home console version of 1987's Mega Man.
If you're more of a Taito fan, then the Super Pocket Taito Edition comes with a whopping 17 games, including Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble, and Elevator Action, and you'll also get Space Invaders '91, a home console game that was released for the Genesis in the early 90s. Hey, it's not on the Genesis Mini or Genesis Mini 2!
Each console comes in a different color scheme inspired by the logos of their respective studios. HyperMegaTech says they've both got simple, straightforward user interfaces, and that they both also come with an Easy Mode, as well as save states, so that you can get past some of their games' tougher levels. Arcade games could be pretty brutal, after all!
Lest you think 12 and 17 games respectively isn't enough, both Super Pocket consoles will also support Evercade's cartridge system, introduced for consoles like the Evercade EXP. This means you'll have access to a potential lineup of over 500 games if you want to expand your Super Pocket's library.
