The new first-person psychological horror game, Dollhouse, will be releasing on May 24 this year on Steam and PlayStation 4. Coming from Soedesco and Creazn Studio, Dollhouse sees you taking control of Marie, the greatest detective in the world, now being afflicted by amnesia with only the memory of her daughter's death remaining on her investigation of the terrifying Dollhouse itself, while trying to piece your past back together. The game features a 1950s noir aesthetic combined with its mind-bending psychological horror to keep you on your toes and at the edge of your chair every terrifying step of the way.
One of the unique aspects of the cat and mouse gameplay is that Marie is able to use a "Focus" ability to see directly through the eyes of her stalker to allow her to stay a step ahead. Keeping in line with Marie's "Focus" ability players will also have access to customizing and upgrading their character with 40+ abilities and passives to add variety throughout their playthroughs. Another way the developers are trying to keep playthroughs fresh is through the use of procedural generation so that the game will never look the same way twice in any of the game modes available.
Another interesting feature of Dollhouse is the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode offering 14 playable characters each with their own unique story to discover. In the multiplayer mode, each player will have their own target to take down while navigating through the trap-filled, procedurally generated map. You'll need to use cunning and caution to make sure you're the one to come out on top in the end.
While the game will be launching on May 24, there will also be a beta test on April 13 and 14 to test the single player and online multiplayer modes and gather feedback from players, which you can sign up to participate in here. You can visit Dollhouse's Steam page here, where you can also add it to your wishlist if you're interested.
