Chinese developer Kuro Game announced its upcoming open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves is soon getting a closed beta test.

While we don't yet know when the beta will start precisely, we know that registration will open tomorrow.

Accompanying the news we get a quick teaser trailer showing what appears to be art for one of the game's environments. You can watch it below.

If you want to see more, recently the developer released another video focusing on the "Echo System" showing how monsters are attracted by humans and Resonators (the definition of the players in Wuthering Waves), so prolonged battles in the wilderness using much Resonance power can attract even more monsters.

That being said, when players defeat a monster, their abilities, named Echoes, become collectible. There are many Echo skills that players can collect including offense, defense, movement, and healing. The developers are planning to turn his system into one of the core parts of the game's gameplay experience.

Wuthering Waves doesn't have a release date just yet, but we know that it will be launched at some point in the future for PC, iOS, and Android. It was announced back in May 2021 and it was recently showcased at Tokyo Game Show, where it certainly drew quite a bit of interest, so much that I wasn't able to test it because the line was too long, but what I saw of the playable demo was certainly promising.

While there certainly are visual elements that create a comparison with the ultra-popular Genshin Impact, we don't yet know how closely alike the two titles are. For now, this game looks definitely promising for those who love HoYoverse's title.
