Today indie developer Polygonomicon released a new video about its upcoming game Varvarion.
Varvarion is an indie action combat game with lovely cartoony graphics and featuring fast and visceral melee battle It has been in development for quite some time and it's actually being created by a single developer who has been doing everything on his own, which is very impressive considering the results.
It has also been exhibited at several events, and today's video comes exactly from one such occasion, Tokyo Game Dungeon 2, which was hosted in Hamamatsucho on January 15th, 2023.
Not only wew catch a glimpse of this title's promising gameplay, but we also hear comments from players who certainly seem to have enjoyed their time with Varvarion. That being said, they also offer constructive criticism, and it's great that the developer is open about it.

Varvarion doesn't have a specific release window, albeit according to what we hear, it'll likely take another couple of years to be completed. It's developed in Unity, and PC via Steam is the "most likely" platform.
The game includes support for local split-screen with up to 4 players in both co-op and versus modes, and a single-player campaign will be included in the final release. Online multiplayer is also a possibility but not a top priority according to what the developer mentions on the official website. If you want to learn more, here's an official description.

Flipping and dodging to evade ferocious attacks, parrying at the last possible split second to reposte with a deadly blow, and doing it all with the style and flare of an anime battle; this is what Varvarion is setting out to achieve.
Another goal is to support a wide assortment of combat situations, ranging from 1 on 1 duels to group melees.
