Sony has announced that it's planning to introduce PC support to PlayStation VR2, and that this feature is currently scheduled to arrive by the end of the year.
In a new PlayStation Blog post, Sony says it's "currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC" in order to broaden the PlayStation VR2's potential game library.
Sony goes on to say that it "hope[s] to make this support available in 2024" and that players should stay tuned for further updates.
It's not entirely clear how this VR support will work yet, but we're presuming that the PlayStation VR2 would act as a standard VR headset in a manner similar to current PC VR sets.
This would allow you to use your PS VR2 to experience VR titles on PC, presumably including big hitters like Half-Life: Alyx and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Unfortunately, Sony doesn't go into much more detail about the PC component of PlayStation VR2, so we'll have to wait and see what the gaming giant is cooking up.
This announcement comes as part of a post celebrating the one-year anniversary of PlayStation VR2. The post also contains info on some of the biggest PS VR2 games that are either out now or coming soon.
Sony points to the reveal of Metro Awakening and Legendary Tales during January's State of Play showcase, as well as highlighting VR titles like spellcasting adventure The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood and dishing out a release date for Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate.
Also highlighted in the post are new Arizona Sunshine 2 DLC, new gameplay details for action JRPG Soul Covenant, and a VR entry for the Zombie Army franchise. If you're a PlayStation VR2 fan, it's well worth a look.
Stay tuned for more info on PC support for PlayStation VR2, as well as all other things PlayStation.
