Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the highly-anticipated next PlayStation Showcase that traditionally replaces the company's long-dead E3 conference.

According to the announcement, the showcase will happen on Wednesday, May 24 at 1:00 pm PDT, 4:00 pm EDT, 9:00 pm BST, or 10:00 pm CEST depending on where you live.

The broadcast will be on YouTube and Twitch, and it will last "a bit over an hour" featuring games for PS5 and PlayStation VR2 from both first-party PlayStation studios and third-party developers around the world, including independent studios. The announcement also mentions the presence of new IP.

At the moment, there isn't a lot of information on what will be showcased, but we may possibly expect a new look at Final Fantasy XVI and perhaps the announcement of the release date of its demo, which was teased a while ago. Of course, we're also waiting to hear more about first-party titles like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine

If precedents are an indication, this should be the biggest group of reveals of the year for Sony Interactive Entertainment, or at least one of the biggest. The run time certainly appears to indicate that there will be a lot on the menu.

Of course, you can expect a full report here on TechRaptor as soon as the announcements are made, so you don't need to worry about missing anything.
