Koei Tecmo has released a brand new Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening trailer, and it's diving deep into some of the game's strategic systems. If you're looking for action-packed thrills, then this might not be the trailer for you, but if you want to know about the day-to-day running of a Japanese clan in the Warring States period, then this is a great place to start.

Last month, Koei Tecmo revealed the Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening overview trailer, which gave a pretty solid introduction to the Japanese strategy sim. This new trailer is titled "System Introduction Video" and carries the subtitle of "Diversified Strategies", and although that might sound a little...middle-management, don't worry; it's more exciting than you might think.

In the trailer, Koei Tecmo shows off the ways in which you can build a unique clan by choosing from different policies, each of which has a different effect on your clan. You can also choose the people who will make up your inner circle, appointing clan officials and gaining different bonuses based on who you appoint to different roles.

The castles your clan owns can also be assigned to defensive or offensive duties, which will change how those castles work on the overworld map. You can designate resupply bases to help units gain extra provisions, too, so your army need never go hungry on a protracted march.

The new trailer also shows off the Clan Target system, which shows you a list of different goals to reach, each of which has associated bonuses to unlock. You may, for instance, want to get your clan to a total of 5,000 crops, or you might want to gain a total of 10,000 soldiers. Achieving these goals will then net you bonuses based on the goal, thus allowing you to build your clan further in that direction.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening launches in the West on PC, PlayStation 4 (and PS5 via backwards compatibility), and Nintendo Switch on July 20th.
