Coming from Inti Creates, Blaster Master Zero 2 launches for the Nintendo Switch. The game is a sequel to a remake of the old NES game Blaster Master. You'll play as Jason and also take control of his new mecha tank, Gaia-Sophia. The platformer lets you blast your way through all kinds of mutants and features a sci-fi adventure.

The game adds more features to the previous. The tank harnesses shocks from high-impact events, like landing from tall heights. It can use this energy to release shockwaves, damaging nearby opponents.

Meanwhile, Jason can now counter enemy attacks, dealing more damage in a riposte-like fashion. However, to expand on that, he can chain the high-damage attack to other nearby enemies, clearing stages much faster. You'll notice in the trailer that in some segments, Jason's gameplay is a class sidescrolling action platformer. But in other cases, the camera pans up to give a more isometric view of the stage. In these moments, Jason gets full 3D control.

Blaster Master Zero 2 sets its sights more on outer space. You'll travel to various planets, fighting off multiple mutant outbreaks. All of this contributes to finding out how to stop a mutant infection from corrupting his friend, Eve.

If you missed today's Nindie Showcase, we've got you covered. A Switch port of indie hit Cuphead was revealed, and it arrives next month. Additionally, we got a new release window for Devolver Digital's upcoming game My Friend Pedro.

A spiritual successor to Crypt of the Necrodancer closed out the show. The game, called Cadence of Hyrule, features similar gameplay accompanied by Link and Zelda.
