Next Hearthstone Expansion Will Have a Better Rewards Track

The next Hearthstone expansion will feature a somewhat different Rewards Track from what Blizzard originally launched late last year, giving players plenty of opportunities to earn gold with a little less grind.

Late last year, a number of Hearthstone players weren't quite happy with the state of the "Rewards Track," a system for players to gain experience and earn gold by completing quests and playing the game. Many felt it was too grindy, and so Blizzard subsequently retuned the Hearthstone Rewards Track to make progression a little easier.

These changes were welcomed by many players, but some felt that there were still some fundamental design issues with the Rewards Track overall. One of these players recently expressed their views on Reddit, prompting a Hearthstone developer to respond with some happy news: the Rewards Track for the next Hearthstone expansion is looking like it will be a lot better.

What Reward Track Changes Are Coming in the Next Hearthstone Expansion?

A recent submission to the Hearthstone subreddit had a player explaining how the Rewards Track feels better once you get past Level 50. Players hit levels much faster and it feels much less grindy overall. His opinion (and a measure of agreement from other players) led one of the game's designers to respond.

"Our latest reward track for the next expansion has 100 levels, the same amount of required XP, and the same amount of total rewards," read a comment from August Dean "IksarHS" Ayala in that Reddit submission. "Sounds like we're on the same page. As we get closer to completion (and the next expansion) we'll share more details."

Coincidentally, another Redditor posted a theory about the next Rewards track roughly one month ago. He speculated that the next Battle Pass would simply split the levels into smaller experience requirements and smaller rewards, paying out the goodies to players at a much more frequent pace. If something like this comes to fruition, then the Hearthstone Rewards Track may very well hit its sweet spot.
