The Hearthstone Rewards Track will be getting a round of changes later in December 2020, ultimately making it easier for longtime players to get rewards as they progress through the game's new Quest system.

The Rewards Track was introduced in Hearthstone just over a month ago as a new way to give players rewards for playing the game. Unfortunately, it seems that Blizzard hasn't quite gotten the balance just right — aside from many player complaints about the grind, there were some challenges that were just too difficult for many players to overcome. Now, some changes are coming to the game that should be making things a little bit easier for everyone.

How is the Hearthstone Rewards Track Changing?

There are a number of Hearthstone Rewards Track changes coming later in December 2020, the first of which is several adjustments to daily and weekly quests:

  • Weekly quests that require Legendary cards and Arena runs are being removed.
  • A weekly quest that required players to win 7 games has been reduced to winning 5 games.
  • Tavern Brawls and Battlegrounds now contribute towards quest progress.
  • Some quests are getting small tweaks to make them easier to complete.
    • One example is the "Play 50 Corrupt Cards" quest; this requirement will be reduced to "Play 30 Corrupt Cards."
  • All 800XP Daily Quests will reward 900 XP.

Aside from these improvements, the XP requirements of the current rewards track has been reduced by 37,000 XP — an almost 20% reduction in length. Additionally, more gold rewards and bonus level adjustments will make it easier for players to get more consistent gold income while playing through the Hearthstone Rewards Track.

When Do the Hearthstone Rewards Track Changes Take Effect?

There is no Hearthstone Rewards Track changes date just yet, but the developers have said in today's news post that it will be arriving sometime later this month.

That's not the only cool thing, coming, though. Players can score a one-time log-in bonus of 5 Darkmoon Faire Packs and 500 Gold from December 15, 2020–January 18, 2021. If you haven't hopped into the game for a while, it sounds like it's a good time to get back in! You can play Hearthstone for free via its official website.
