A new Persona 5 Tactica trailer has been released, taking a more in-depth look at the upcoming strategy RPG's tactical combat.

Officially announced back at the Xbox showcase earlier this yearPersona 5 Tactica is a strategy spinoff of the popular fifth installment of Atlus' long-running JRPG series, and in the latest trailer, we get a look at some of the intricacies of battle.

As the trailer begins, we get a glimpse of Skull, Panther, and Mona facing off against the forces of the Legionnaires, a new enemy you'll have to contend with in Persona 5 Tactica.

You'll be able to move and perform actions as you choose in the game's combat, and lining up attacks perfectly to maximize damage is the name of the game, as is taking cover from enemy attacks.

One mechanic that the trailer focuses on is the Triple Threat system, which works similarly to Persona 5's All-Out Attack.

If three members of your squad are surrounding enemies, you can launch a Triple Threat attack for huge damage.

We also get to see the five difficulty levels on offer, which are as follows: Safe, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Merciless. It's possible to change difficulties whenever you like.

Difficulty level doesn't just affect how strong enemies are; it also influences how often you can use Baton Pass, for instance, which allows you to swap in standby units when party members are knocked out.

The trailer also shows off Persona 5 Tactica's skill trees, which will give you access to progressively more powerful tactical options, as well as the Velvet Room, where you'll power up Personas to keep them combat-ready.

Persona 5 Tactica is set for release on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on November 17th. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.

In her preview of the game, TechRaptor's own Courtney Ehrenhofler praised its "solid strategy tactics" and "welcoming" premise for both newcomers and existing Persona 5 fans.
