Microids has released a new Flashback 2 story trailer, introducing us to Conrad Hart and the conspiracy he's trying to dismantle.

The trailer sets up the narrative for Flashback 2, which will see Hart return from the original Flashback. He'll once again be facing off against the diabolical Morphs, an alien race which is trying to "enslave all life in the solar system".

Together with his A.I. companion A.I.S.H.A., Hart must search for his lost friend Ian and discover the truth behind the Morph conspiracy.

You can check out the new Flashback 2 story trailer here. If you're a fan of the original, it should give you some nice nostalgic vibes.

Flashback 2 was originally announced in 2021 and was initially set for a 2022 release to coincide with the original game's 30th anniversary, but was subsequently pushed back to 2023.

In April this year, Microids revealed that the upcoming cinematic platformer sequel would be released for PC and consoles in November, and in July, we got a look at the returning Titan Jungle location, which should be familiar to you if you love the 1992 game.

Boasting the involvement of original Flashback creator Paul Cuisset, Flashback 2 is described by its developers as a "gripping, fluid and intricate platform shooter".

You'll explore multiple different urban and rural environments as you search for Ian and battle the dastardly General Lazarus, together with his army of Morphs.

Unlike the original Flashback, the new game uses fully 3D graphics for "even deeper immersion", as Microids and Cuisset tell it.

You'll be able to decide for yourself whether that look works for the game when Flashback 2 launches for PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch on November 16th.

Stay tuned for more news on this one and all other things retro gaming.
