Today the Japanese label GA Bunko, which publishes the Danmachi light novel series, hosted its GA Fes 2023 event livestreamed on Abema and showcased a new trailer of an upcoming mobile game.

The game is titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Battle Chronicle and it's a free-to-play action JRPG releasing for iOS and Android in Japan this spring. It's developed by Aiming and Team Caravan, which you may know for Caravan Stories.

The trailer, which you can watch below, introduces plenty of familiar characters that fans of the series will surely recognize, alongside a look at the gameplay and visuals, which aren't bad for a mobile game.

Danmachi: Battle Chronicle is actually getting a beta test in March before its spring release, with applications starting today on the official site. That being said, you may want to hold off on that unless you know you can play since the beta is explicitly intended only for Japan.

The developer is looking to pick 3,000 participants between today and March 10, with the beta that will be officially hosted on both iOS and Android between March 16 and March 22.

Since the game is free-to-play, you can expect the usual optional microtransactions. Considering the massive cast of characters from the light novel and anime, the IP is pretty much perfect for a gacha game. At the moment, there is no information on whether the game will ever be localized in English.

If you're not familiar with Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? known familiarity among the fans as Danmachi, it debuted as a light novel by Fujino Omori in 2013 and it's still ongoing, having generated manga, anime, and even a couple of video games.

During the same event, we got the announcement of a game for PC and Nintendo Switch dedicated to the Goblin Slayer series
